Taking the challenge

I am a creature of habit. I don't vary my life or schedule too much, and I don't particularly like change, unless I'm sure it is going to be fun.

So, yesterday morning, as I was planning how to get to work during a snowfall, I decided to take my husband's suggestion and take the parkway rather than the highway.

I was a little nervous, because a few years ago when I encountered bad weather and took the parkway, I ended up skidding over to the wrong side of the road when a car approached. Fortunately, they were able to stop when I was unable to do so.

So, yesterday, I took the curves slowly. I enjoyed the beauty of the snow-lined roads, trees, and even a tubing hill (for snow sliding with innertubes). I managed to make it back to the freeway, beyond the bottleneck part, and the rest of the ride to work was smooth sailing.

I'll have to make more moves like that in my life--just subtle adjustments here and there that may be out of my comfort zone, but for my ultimate good. I might enjoy the view along the way, and even take advantage of time spent wisely.

Till next time,

Suzi
