Happy Valentine's Day!

Today is valentine's day! My husband wrote a beautiful poem on his blog to mark the occasion. We had our small group over last night, and everyone pitched in to help vacuum and clean. I baked two cherry pies as a sort of tribute to my mom and remembering all those good February cherry pies we have enjoyed in the past. Someone said it was the best cherry pie they had ever eaten! I also baked heart shaped cookies, and Tim and the kids helped frost them.

Last night God sent a beautiful blanket of white to cover up some of the ugliness that's been visible with the snow melting. It shouldn't affect traffic too badly--it snowed about 2-3 inches, but it has stopped now and the roads are mostly plowed. It is supposed to melt today anyway--highs are predicted in the upper 30s.

The blanket of snow and the color red be sport of this day remind me of the covering of Jesus' blood for our sins. Maybe some of you have seen the e-mail circulating with John 3:16:

The best valentine of all:

"For God so loVed the world,
That He gAve
His onLy
BegottEn
SoN
That whosoever
Believeth In Him
Should Not perish,
But have Everlasting life."

Happy Valentine's Day--may you enjoy the greatest gift of love--Jesus!

Till next time,

Suzi

(I couldn't get all the capital letters in VALENTINE to line up, but you get the idea. (L) )
