Hurray! I am finished with work till JANUARY 5!!!
Now, I love my job, but it is so great not to have to get up and go out in this cold (unless I want to) and snow. Tomorrow I'll cook and clean and do a little wrapping. In the evening we'll go to Tim's brother's for Christmas Eve dinner and then to church for the 11 pm service. Christmas morning will be laid back (or else packing) and we'll get ready to head for Tennessee! We may stop in Chicago for a day or perhaps make a big push for Nashville to relax a bit before we head on over to my folks near Knoxville. Not sure yet exactly when we'll leave--late on the 25th or early on the 26th? Mark wants to be back for New Year's Eve, so it's a quick trip.
Lots has happened since my last blog post--not the least of which is that our two close friends, Dale & Beckie, found themselves in a situation in which they needed immediate housing and Dale was in physically rough shape. Dale is lots better now--has been with us and then another good friend, and they are now at Mark's house where they will dog-sit for our dog Raven, Mark's dog Zeus, and Luke's two cats Omar and Draco.
Work has been busy--we've had to move out of the registrar's office for the holiday break due to mold issues in our walls. Yech! But it should be nice and clean when we get back in January. I needed an excuse to clear off my desk! (Now keep it that way everyone says!) It was nice to have Beckie around this past week--she cleaned my kitchen and bathrooms (I mean scrubbed and shined!) and also cleaned and organized my pantry. Now I know where all that food I thought I had is!
Have a very merry Christmas and happy new year--I'll see if I can blog from Tennessee. I need to get a couple things ready tonight so tomorrow isn't so hectic.
